More people every day are finding themselves very interested in getting involved with the foreign exchange market, Forex. There is a lot of opportunity for the average individual to make a lot of money. But most people do not have the knowledge, experience, or dedication to make that profit on their own. There are dozens of brokers that work specifically with the average Joe trader. As interest in Forex trading continues to rise the competition to find the best Forex brokers will get even fiercer.

The best-known Forex broker for the part time trader is the Swiss company Advanced Currency Markets, more commonly called ACM. This company was founded in 2002 and since then has grown to trade about $70 billion per month. They are a powerhouse that every trader wants to have on their side.

Besides ACM there are plenty of other brokerages to choose from that will work just as well. All of these brokers work almost exclusively online and can easily be found on the Internet. The idea of working for someone with no Forex trading experience is relatively new to these brokers. Individual consumers have only been participating in the Forex market for about two decades. Before the Internet became such a phenomenon Forex trading was handled almost entirely by international banks and corporations. But since the average consumer has started showing some interest in the market, brokers have jumped at the chance to assist.

As with any type of business venture not all brokers will be as reliable or competent as any other. The Internet has always been full of scams that are trying to make a quick buck off an overly trusting consumer, and it likely always will be. Because of this risk it is very important that all traders thoroughly investigate any broker they are interested in working with. The first thing to see is the broker’s website. It should look professional and not be overwhelmed by links that lead nowhere and spelling problems. If a trader gets past that first step they should look up the broker and their firm to see if they have any mentions in the recent news or a problem with the Better Business Bureau. Most importantly, if the broker’s website is promising things that are just too perfect to be believed then don’t believe it.

What any trader wants is a broker that seems honest and that they do want to do business with them. If the broker has a customer service department available or some place that traders can speak to an actual person this is a good sign. Anyone in their office or on their website should be able to answers things clearly, honestly, and in terms that anyone can understand. If the broker seems to be speaking in code of avoids answering any questions then they must not want more business very badly.

Most brokers will have their traders open an online account to verify their identity and a valid bank account. Some will recommend trading software and others will leave it up to the trader’s preference. Almost all brokers will require a minimum deposit to the account. Most importantly they should offer assistance when it is asked for and otherwise let their traders go about their own business.
